APPOINTMENT TO CNES EXECUTIVE - COMMITTEE JEAN AUSSAGUEL TO TAKE OVER AS DIRECTOR OF ACCOUNTING, EFFECTIVE 1 SEPTEMBER 2020

Jean Aussaguel has been appointed as CNES’s Director of Accounting with a seat on the agency’s Executive Committee, effective 1 September 2020. His appointment follows the decision of Pierre Dentand, the current holder, to take retirement.

After obtaining his accounting qualification in 1990, equivalent to a PhD in Finance and Accounting, Jean Aussaguel has spent most of his career in the space sector after working as an auditor with KPMG until 1990.

Currently CNES’s Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Chairman & CEO of Telespace Participation, he was previously Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary at SCOT, a former subsidiary of CNES operating in the field of Earth observation, and Head of the Subsidiaries and Shareholdings division and then of the Subsidiaries, Shareholdings, Property and Insurance sub-directorate in CNES’s Finance Directorate. He sits on the boards of directors or supervisory boards of CLS, Kineis, Novespace, Telespace Participation and SIMKO. He is also a member of the Société Générale bank’s consultative committee for the Greater Southwest Region.

Commenting on this appointment, CNES President Jean-Yves Le Gall said: “CNES is glad to have chosen Jean Aussaguel to succeed Pierre Dentand, whom I would like to thank for heading our Accounting Directorate with such brilliance for so many years. Jean Aussaguel will now be bringing to CNES the experience acquired from his various positions and devoting his exceptional talents to advance our space policy.”
