France-Uzbekistan space cooperation - CNES signs framework agreement with Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Tuesday 9 October, in the presence of French President Emmanuel Macron on the occasion of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan’s official visit to France, CNES President Jean-Yves Le Gall signed a framework agreement with Abdulaziz Kamilov, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, on space cooperation between the two nations.

Joint activities under the agreement will cover space science, Earth observation, telecommunications satellites, space applications, space research and technology and coordination of international regulatory issues.

Besides developing joint projects, the signatories of the agreement will focus on exchanging experience and good practice, training and promotion of space activities, in particular to engage younger generations. A joint steering committee will be formed to coordinate these efforts.
