CP011-2008 - French language week celebrated at CNES

An exhibition of work by participants in the 13th French language week, from 26 June to 15 July 2008, at the Alliance Française gallery, admission free.

As part of the French language week, organised by the Délégation Générale à la Langue Française et aux Langues de France (General delegation for French and languages of France) from 14 to 24 March, the CNES Observatoire de l’Espace is offering the general public four events to show how, through words, literature, art and its innumerable means of expression, Space inspires the creativity of the French-speaking world.

There will be four original cultural events: an evening during which the fourth edition of the review Espace(s) will be presented, two encounters at the Salon du Livre and creative workshops entitled "Space diaries".

These actions, which decline Space in many different fields, are CNES’ way of sharing its cultural vision of space with different publics - particularly those who are interested in all forms of art, who care greatly about literature, in short, French-speaking people all over the world.

An evening event
On Wednesday 19 March from 7:30 pm to midnight, at CNES headquarters, the Observatoire de l’Espace is inviting the public to take part, along with writers, artists and others involved in the Space world, in a celebration of words, creation and Space. (2 place Maurice Quentin – 75001 Paris)

The review Espace(s)
The fourth of edition of the review published by the CNES Observatoire de l’Espace will be coming out during the French language week. This year’s work features a collection of hitherto unpublished literary accounts, original old texts, artistic, plastic, sound and conceptual proposals related to Space.

Two encounters at the Salon du Livre
On Sunday, 16 March from 2 pm to 3 pm at the Bar des sciences and on Wednesday 19 March from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at the stand of the Ministry of Culture and Ccommunication, the CNES Observatoire de l’Espace is organising meetings with scientists and authors, creators of original work on Space.

Creative workshops: " Space diaries"

The Observatoire de l’Espace has created a project around a selection of 10 words, to encourage cultural institutions in France and all over the world to invite their publics to create illustrated accounts related to Space and Space activities.
