Illustrate your stories

You can access CNES’s store of photos and videos to support your stories.

Photos and computer-generated imagery

CNES’s photo library archives and exploits all of the agency’s still images—photos, computer-generated imagery and infographics.
Still images may be downloaded from the photo library website for free. Downloadable images are free of copyright, subject to the terms and conditions of use and provided that you credit the source of the material.

Some material is accessible without having to log in, but registering and creating an account gives you access to the full catalogue.
CNES’s photo library is managed by Photon.

Audiovisual resources

CNES’s video library archives and exploits all of the agency’s moving images (footage).
The video library contains finished, ready-to-air products—films, reports, animations—and raw, unedited footage (rushes) for use by media and image professionals.

The video library offers the following services:

  • For guest visitors to the website: viewing of all finished video products in the catalogue. Note that unedited rushes are not viewable in guest mode.
  • For registered users: free viewing of the full catalogue, in particular rushes, and the ability to order and download files after review and approval of how they will be used.

Access to the service and use of downloadable resources from CNES’s video library are free (except when requesting resources on physical media), subject to the terms and conditions of use and provided that you credit the source of the material.
